hamina hamina hamina, can't think of a title for this post.

i'm posting this from founder's, where i'm preparing to find out how much i owe in taxes. i hope it doesn't hurt too badly.

in other news, i set up an external hard-drive. re-networked an office after someone else f*cked it up, figured out some mail merge, and generally did all things technological. Deb and I had lunch at Johnny Carino's, i drooled over the treo 700 i'm going to get in september, and then we had coffee. Peace!

Oh cruel twist of fate . . .

Had a profitable day at the office, came home in a great mood . . . until the tax man caught up with me. I might be paying a pound of flesh to Uncle Sam. Hope it's not as bad as it looks. Otherwise, I got nuthin. Whaaaah! Poor me!!

What's it take to throw somebody in jail around here?

Okay, how in the hell could they mistrial this? Drag this deranged b*tch out into the street and put a bullet in her head. I mean, she cut off a baby's arms. What does it take to put somebody in jail around here?

which I did with impunity

Hey, I'm glad you're back. I know you can't keep away. I'm posting directly to blogger now, I changed the template and now it just pops up there when I write. I suppose this is very boring to the rest of the world, but whatever. Today I changed wall sockets, took some computer junk to Goodwill, read, wrote, and all that. I have ANOTHER story that might sell. The editor wrote and asked me to change it up a little, which I did with impunity. I had to look up some stuff.

Doing some research for a short story, I found the story of Woody Eugene James a suvivor of the USS Indianapolis, which was torpedoed on 30 July 1945, between Guam and Leyte Gulf. It's an amazing story.

Don Knotts died today. I don't have anything snide or cynical to say about that, because it actually kind of makes me sad.

Spam as art! <-- video. dial-up users, do not bother.

puttin' down the chillinist prose

Hey everybody. It's me. Dan Manning. How ya doing? I killed some computer viruses and put a CPU cooling fan on notice: Technological butt-kicking is underway. I'm writing a new web-page for my loyal customers, so they can display their wares on the Wild Wild Web. I'm puttin' down the chillinist prose and proclimating to the science fiction masses. Yeah baby. I'm feelin' smooth and cool in my funky threads. Peace!

I was consuming some pasta at the Olive Garden, you know, taking in the Italian culture and whatnot, when I had to take a pee. I strutted over to the men's room and took a pee. When I came back, I realized I was listening to Mel Tormay, or some old lounge crooner, putting the shmaltz on Billy Idol's 1983 smash hit, "Eyes Without a Face." Crazy man, crazy.

I fixed so many cipherin' machines today, I must be the Lord of All Technology. I got wireless here and accounting software there and web browser in my trousers. I'm the chillin-ist Mack Daddy on the Techno-Scene baby. With a Fu-Man-Chu mustache and a hankerin' for lovin. So come back to my website when I'm in the groove again. Until then, keep it real yo!

The tale of Two Adaptors:

It all started as a normal Thursday. I had one machine to drop off on the other side of town. I loaded up the car and took off. Traffic was heavy. I got to the customer's house, a newly formatted machine waiting to be returned to its home, where it would then dutifuly deliver illegal .mp3 files and porn until it was defiled again. But when I got there, alas, I had forgotten an adaptor this particular machine needed in order to connect. It was the DVI to VGA adaptor. The first one I've had to cart around in my 2.33 years at A1CSR. I was all the way across town, and I couldn't display the things workability to the customer. Needless to say, I was pissed. But I made a graceful exit, promising to deliver the litte f*cking adaptor later in the day. I stopped by the Manning Estate and got the offending adaptor, which had attached itself, unnoticed, to my test bench monitor cable. From there, I was off on an all new adventure. I unpacked, deployed and tranfered files to a new machine in a fancy house. I finished that, and then jetted off to West Olive, MI, where I explained how I could manifest web pages that would astound and befuddle anyone looking for a used car. My work done at the used car place, I headed back to the first customer's place. I connected the video, and the machine was working in perfect order. Then I went home, to find my brand spanking new shiny, compact Mac Mini. I unpacked it, thrilled to be able to see the computing world from both sides. I unpacked it, and found that they had forgotten to send the DVI to VGA adaptor. I called apple and they would ship it out, but now I have to wait another 5-7 business days. F*CK!~
